just had 2 elders invite me to my judicial meeding about my marriage of two years.
they think my husband was not legaly divorced.
but he was and i had 3 lawyers tell me he was.
This is not a "governmental" organization with laws and justice- these are "cult" rules, & there is no justice or logic in them, I think you should try the suggestions given my those who already posted but prepare your mind for the fact that they may still DF you because their rules change to suit them and their decisions are made without your knowledge or imput- it is sick indeed.

so a little background i am not dissfellowshiped and my sister stayed in for awhile though so she's treated like she is!.
this is the most disturbing conversation i have ever had with my mother and for the first time i see clearly how deep the control on my mothers mind is!.
You also quoted my mother who has said the exact same kinds of things all my life, those statements disturbed me when I was in, and now that I am out I wish I had the balls to say something to her- that kind of talk is discusting!
I try to think about her good qualities and try to remember that she is under mind control.
I also agree with another poster who said that saying those things gives them "bonus points" to the other uber JWs. I think that people like our moms delude themselves into thinking that saying that crap out loud shows everyone else how devout they are...& covers over possible "past indescretions". Case in point is my mom...married a "worldly" man, guilt I think moves her to say those things...

i often wonder if you are here somewhere amongst the cool avatars and catchy screen names...it killed me 5 years ago when you ran away.....i felt as if i was shattered and would never be whole again.
and if i had stayed in the borg....that would still be the case....alone i was dying inside slowly....the borg was drowning me in duty, loyalty to the organization, isolation, spiritual hunger, thirst for understanding- i had to leave too, i just didn't do it quite as dramatically as you did.. i don't know why you still feel the need to remain "missing" after all these years.... i just want you to know that i was tired of hanging on to the hurt and pain over you...i let it go when i left the borg.
and all i want for you now is peace & i pray that you are okay and safe, wherever you are..... chg.

It is true Nickolas that I am in a committed relationship now, but you are also correct because I do just want to know that my ex is ok...I have worried at some points over the last five years that he is broke, living under a bridge or something, and despite what he has done to me....we were best friends once upon a time & I just want to know that he is ok and then my heart will truly have peace

some people think that it must be miserable to be a jw because they dont celebrate christmas or birthdays.. but they're wrong!
being a jw is miserable because you cant do fucking anything.. crazy hair day - this was a fundraising day where kids come to school with blue or red died hair and give a $2 donation.
i wasnt allowed to do this because it was too worldly to have "crazy hair" and it would be too hard to wash it out for tomorrow nights meeting.. school camp - this was unnessisary association with those devil worshipping 9 year olds.
I am still a wallflower & freeze whenever there is a remotely "social" event thanks to my JW indoctrination. But I did end up enjoying spending my teens in my room painting black nailpolish on my fingernails while listening to the Smiths, Morrissey, and The Cure- they were my friends "Last night I dreamt that somebody loved me....no hope no harm....just another false alarm..." I feel much like Troubled Mind, much more peace of mind outside of the "truth".
Now I find that I have to fight my gag reflex whenever I see a Watchtower cover lying around my mom's house- looking at that rag discusts me .

i remember studying when i was about 13 or 14 with a pioneer brother from our hall.
i remember for some reason learning that it was necessary for there to be a continuous line of f&ds from jesus to our time.
does anyone recall why this is necessary?
